Deloitte Ukraine conducted a study “New Year’s shopping of Ukrainians during the war”, for which the “Center for Applied Research” interviewed a representative sample of 1008 respondents. The method of data collection is an online survey by self-completion of the questionnaire by the respondents. The sample represents the population of Ukraine by sex, age, size of the settlement and type of employment. The survey was also conducted among Ukrainians who went abroad after February 24, 2022.
61% of respondents are planning New Year and Christmas shopping, although they will buy fewer goods than in 2021 (52% of respondents indicated that they will spend less than last year).
49% of respondents plan to spend UAH 1,000-5,000 on purchases. Only 6% are determined to spend more than 10 thousand hryvnias.
61% of respondents noted that they plan to spend on helping Ukraine during the war, of which 86% – on helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
